How To Create A Konnector From Scratch

Step 1: Log in to Your Konnectify Account

  • Login to Your Account: On the homepage, find and click on the “Login” button (usually located in the top-right corner of the screen).

    • Enter your email address and password associated with your Konnectify account into the fields provided.

    • If you haven't registered for an account yet, you can click on the “Sign Up” link to create a new account.

  • Access Your Dashboard: After successfully logging in, you’ll be taken to your Konnectify dashboard, where you can manage your integrations, workflows, and other features.

Step 2: Navigate to the Konnector Library

  • Go to the Konnector Library Section: In your dashboard, look for the Konnectors tab in the navigation menu (this is usually on the left or at the top of your screen).

  • Click the Konnectors: Clicking on this tab will open up the section where you can create, manage, and view all the Konnectors (integrations between different apps or services) that you’ve set up.

Step 3: Create a New Konnector or Edit an Existing On

  • Create a New Konnector: If you're setting up a new Konnector, you should look for a

  •  “+ New” or “New Konnector” button ( on the top-right or within the Konnector Library section).

    • Select the Apps You Want to Integrate: A list of available applications or services that you can integrate with will appear. Select the apps or services that you want to connect.

    • Choose the Type of Integration: Depending on the available options, you may be prompted to choose from different types of integrations like “Triggers” (events that kick off an action) or “Actions” (tasks that get performed after a trigger).

  • Edit an Existing Konnector: If you’re modifying an existing Konnector, simply locate it from the list of Konnectors in the Konnector Library.

    • Click on the Konnector name  to open the configuration settings and make changes.

Step 4: Configure the Konnector

  • Set Up Triggers: The Trigger is the event that will activate the Konnector. For example, you could set a trigger like "New Order in Shopify" or "New Email Received in Gmail."

    • Select the app that will be the source of the trigger (e.g., Shopify, Gmail).

    • Choose the specific event (trigger), like “New Order Created” or “New Email.”

    • Provide any additional information or filters to specify the trigger (e.g., order status, email label).

  • Set Up Actions: The Action is the task that will be performed when the trigger happens. For example, if the trigger is a new order, the action might be "Send an email" or "Add a record to a CRM."

    • Choose the application that will perform the action (e.g., Mailchimp, Google Sheets, or Slack).

    • Define what specific action should take place, like “Send a Welcome Email” or “Create a New Row in a Spreadsheet.”

  • Map Data: Often, when setting up the Konnector, you’ll need to map the data between the source (trigger) and the destination (action). This means specifying which fields in the trigger event should be passed to the action.

    • For example, map the customer’s email from Shopify’s "New Order" trigger to the "Email Address" field in an email marketing platform like Mailchimp.

  • Customize Further (Optional): Depending on your integration needs, you may have additional customization options. These could include filtering specific data, using conditions to control when actions occur, or setting custom formatting.

Step 5: Test the Konnector (Optional but Recommended)

  • Run a Test: Before finalizing and saving the Konnector, it's a good idea to test it to make sure it functions as expected. Most platforms, including Konnectify, allow you to test your Konnector by simulating the trigger and action.

    • Look for a “Test” or “Run Test” button within the Konnector setup.

    • Review the results of the test to make sure the data flows correctly between apps and that the action happens as expected.

    • If there are any issues or errors, make adjustments to your Konnector settings.

Step 6: Save the Konnector

  • Review Your Configuration: Once you’ve completed all the configurations, reviewed your trigger and action, and tested the Konnector, it’s time to save your work.

    • Look for a “Save” button, usually located in the top-right or bottom-right corner of the screen.

  • Click “Save”: When you click “Save”, the Konnector will be saved in your Konnector Library, and it will be ready to be used in your automated workflows.

Step 7: Activate the Konnector (Optional)

  • Activate the Konnector: In some cases, even after saving the Konnector, you may need to activate or enable it before it starts running.

    • Look for an “Activate” button near the saved Konnector in your library.

    • Clicking “Activate” ensures that the Konnector is live and will start responding to the triggers and performing the actions you've set up.

  • Note: Some Konnectors may run automatically once saved, while others require manual activation.

Step 8: Monitor and Edit the Konnector (Optional)

  • Monitor Your Konnector: After saving and activating the Konnector, you can monitor its performance and status from the Konnector Library.

    • Check if it’s working as expected by viewing logs or receiving notifications.

  • Edit the Konnector (if needed): If you need to make changes later, simply click on the saved Konnector and look for an “Edit” option to adjust its settings.

Additional Tips:

  • Clear and Descriptive Naming: Make sure to give your Konnector a clear name and description when saving it. This will help you easily identify it later in your Konnector Library, especially if you have multiple integrations.

  • Permissions and Access: Double-check that you’ve granted the necessary permissions for the Konnector to access the apps and data it needs to integrate with.

  • Organize Your Konnectors: If you create multiple Konnectors, it can help to organize them with tags or categories to quickly find and manage them in the future.
