What is an action in Konnectify?

Created by Janardhan Baskar, Modified on Mon, 17 Mar at 3:21 PM by Alan Chris

In Konnectify, an action is what happens after a trigger event occurs.

Once the trigger activates the workflow, an action is executed based on the predefined task you’ve set up.

For example, if your trigger is "A new email is received," the action could be "Send a notification."

This means that every time you receive a new email, Konnectify will automatically send a notification. Actions are the tasks that carry out your workflow, making your automated processes efficient and effective.

WHAT IS AN ACTION?

An action in Konnectify is a task performed as a result of a trigger. Actions define what happens after a trigger is activated, allowing users to automate responses and streamline workflows.

How Actions Work

An action is the second step in an automation process. Once a trigger detects an event, the system executes the predefined action(s) to complete the workflow.

For example:

  • A new form submission (trigger) sends an email notification (action).

  • A new user registration (trigger) adds the user to a database (action).

  • A file upload (trigger) sends an approval request (action).

Types of Actions

1. Data Processing Actions

Perform calculations, modify text, insert custom code, repeat actions or filter information before executing further steps.

Example: Extracting key details from an email before storing them in a database.

2. Integration Actions

Connect with third-party applications or services to execute tasks.

Example: Creating a new task in a project management tool when an issue is reported.
