API & authentication
Authentication: API credentials (API Key + System headers)
This connector uses credential-based authentication. You’ll provide:
API Key, X System Key, and X System Name. Konnectify stores these securely
to sign requests to the Follow Up Boss API.
What the integration can do
- Listen to real-time webhook events for People, Deals, Tasks, Notes, Appointments, Calls, Texts, Emails, Events, and Stages
- Create, find, update, and delete CRM records like people, deals, tasks, notes, and appointments
- Log engagement activities (calls and text messages) to keep timelines complete
- Look up system users for ownership/routing logic
Important: API access, permissions, and rate limits
- API availability may depend on your Follow Up Boss plan and role permissions.
- If your account enforces API rate limits, Konnectify will automatically retry some transient failures, but you should design workflows to avoid excessive bursts.
- For webhook triggers, ensure your Follow Up Boss account can create and deliver webhook notifications.

- A Konnectify workspace with permission to create/edit workflows
Add Follow Up Boss to a Workflow

- Click Add step and select Follow Up Boss.
Authorize using API credentials
- When prompted, enter your API Key.
- Enter your registered X System Key and X System Name.

- For “Find” actions, provide the required IDs/criteria so Konnectify can retrieve the correct record.
Mapping tip
Be careful when mapping identifiers (like Person ID, Deal ID, Task ID). Using the wrong ID source can cause “not found” errors or update the wrong record.

- Verify the step output and confirm the action performed the expected change.
Activate the Workflow
- Turn the Workflow on.

FAQ
How does authentication work for Follow Up Boss in Konnectify?
The connector uses credential-based auth. You provide an API Key plus the required X System Key and
X System Name headers. Konnectify securely stores these to authenticate API calls on your behalf.
Which Follow Up Boss plans are supported?
Any plan that includes API access and webhook/event delivery can be connected. If you’re unsure, check your Follow Up Boss account settings or confirm with your admin whether API keys and webhook integrations are enabled.
Are triggers real-time or polling?
All triggers in this integration are webhook-based. Follow Up Boss notifies Konnectify when events happen (like People Created or Deals Updated), so workflows start quickly without periodic polling delays.
How do I prevent duplicates when creating people or deals?
This connector does not include a dedicated “upsert” action. To reduce duplicates, use a Find People or Find Deal step first, then conditionally run Create only when no matching record is found; otherwise run Update.
What happens if Follow Up Boss rate-limits my requests?
If the API responds with throttling (for example, HTTP 429), Konnectify may retry based on platform retry policies. For high-volume workflows, consider adding filtering, batching where possible in upstream steps, or staggering workflow runs to keep request rates steady.
Can I connect multiple Follow Up Boss accounts?
Yes. Create separate Konnectify connections (each with its own API Key and X System credentials). Then choose the appropriate connection per workflow or per step depending on your routing needs.
Do deleted records trigger automations, and can I restore them?
Yes—this integration includes webhook triggers for deletions (e.g., People Deleted, Deals Deleted, Tasks Deleted). The available actions include permanent deletes for several objects, but they do not provide a “restore” operation. If you need recovery, consider archiving data to a secondary system before deleting.
