What is WhatsApp Business Cloud?
WhatsApp Business Cloud is Meta’s official cloud API for WhatsApp Business, designed for companies that want to message customers at scale
using approved templates, interactive experiences, and real-time inbound message events.
By integrating WhatsApp Business Cloud with Konnectify, you can route inbound conversations to the right systems and automate responses—
without building and hosting your own webhook infrastructure.

What you can automate
•Instantly capture inbound WhatsApp messages (webhook)
•Send approved template messages for outreach & notifications
•Send free-form session messages within the 24-hour window
•Auto-reply to common questions with templated responses
•Notify teams downstream when a message arrives (via other connected apps)
•Trigger follow-ups based on message content and routing rules
API & authentication
Authentication: OAuth 2.0 authorization
Konnectify connects to WhatsApp Business Cloud via Meta OAuth 2.0. During authorization, you sign in to Meta and grant access. Konnectify
stores only the resulting access token securely; your Meta password is never stored in Konnectify.
Supported capabilities (based on this integration’s trigger/action set):
- Receive inbound WhatsApp messages in real time via webhook subscriptions
- Send WhatsApp template messages to users
- Send WhatsApp session messages to users
Plan restrictions & rate limits
WhatsApp Business Cloud is subject to Meta platform policies, messaging limits (tier-based), and template approval requirements. If you hit
rate limits, Konnectify may retry requests where possible, but you should design workflows with backoff and queueing in mind.
How to connect WhatsApp Business Cloud to Konnectify
Prerequisites
- A Meta Business account with WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) access
- A WhatsApp Business phone number connected to Cloud API
- Meta App credentials: App ID (Client ID), App Secret (Client Secret), and Config ID
- Admin permissions to authorize OAuth access and manage webhooks
Add WhatsApp Business Cloud to a Workflow
- In Konnectify, open Workflows and select Create workflow.
- Choose WhatsApp Business Cloud as your trigger app or action app.
Authorize via OAuth 2.0
- Click Connect (or Add new connection).
- Enter your Meta App ID (Client ID), App Secret, and Config ID when prompted.
- Complete the Meta authorization and onboarding flow in the popup window.
Configure the Trigger or Action
- Select the event (Trigger) or operation (Action) you want to use.
- Map fields from previous steps (for example: recipient phone number, template name, language).
- Save the step configuration.
Important
Template messages require pre-approved templates in WhatsApp Manager. Free-form messages are restricted to the
24-hour customer care window (session) and must comply with Meta policies.
Test the Workflow
- Use Test to fetch a sample inbound event or to send a test message.
- Confirm that recipient details and message payloads look correct.
Activate the Workflow
- Turn the workflow On.
- Send a real inbound message to validate webhook delivery and end-to-end automation.
Triggers
1
This integration includes 1 trigger. Triggers run via webhooks, so new inbound messages can start workflows
instantly.
Messages
1 triggers
New message
Creates a webhook subscription on Meta WhatsApp Cloud API and fires instantly for every inbound user message.
Add more message-based triggers by extending your workflow logic (filters, routers, and downstream app steps).
Actions
2
Use actions to send WhatsApp messages from Konnectify—either as approved templates or as session messages.
Messages
2 actions
Send a template
Send a WhatsApp template message to a user.
Send a message
Send a WhatsApp message to a user.

FAQ
How does authentication work for WhatsApp Business Cloud in Konnectify?
This integration uses Meta OAuth 2.0. You provide your Meta App credentials (Client ID, Client Secret, Config ID), then
complete the Meta authorization flow. Konnectify stores the resulting access token securely; your Meta password is not stored.
Which WhatsApp/Meta plans are supported?
Konnectify connects to the WhatsApp Business Cloud API. You’ll need a Meta Business setup with a WhatsApp Business Account
(WABA) and a Cloud API-enabled phone number. Messaging limits and features depend on your Meta account status, messaging tier, and compliance.
How does the “New message” trigger work—polling or webhook?
It’s a webhook trigger. Konnectify creates a webhook subscription on Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API so inbound messages can start
workflows in near real time. No periodic polling is required.
Does this integration support upserts or built-in duplicate prevention?
No—this connector focuses on messaging (send message / send template). For duplicate prevention, use Konnectify workflow steps like
filters, deduplication by message ID, or store processed message IDs in your database/CRM via other app steps.
What happens if we hit Meta/WhatsApp API rate limits?
If the API returns rate-limit responses, Konnectify may retry depending on the error type. For high-volume use cases, design workflows to
throttle message sends, batch downstream operations where possible, and monitor your Meta messaging limits/tier.
Can I connect multiple WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABAs) to Konnectify?
Yes. Create separate connections in Konnectify for each Meta/WhatsApp setup you want to use. Each workflow step can be pointed to a specific
connection so you can isolate brands, regions, or phone numbers.
When should I use “Send a template” vs “Send a message”?
Use Send a template for outbound notifications or outreach that must use an approved WhatsApp template (often outside the
24-hour window). Use Send a message for free-form replies within the 24-hour session window after the user
messages you, following Meta policies.
