Xe Currency Data Integration with Konnectify

Connect to Xe.com for live and historical currency exchange rates—so you can automate currency conversion, reporting, and finance workflows using accurate mid-market and reference rates.

Currency Conversion Historic Rates Averages Statistics Reference Rates 0 Triggers 8 Actions

What is Xe Currency Data?

Xe Currency Data (Xe.com) provides foreign exchange rate data including mid-market conversions, historical daily rates, and statistics such as high/low and volatility.

With Konnectify, you can pull rates on demand inside workflows—for example to normalize multi-currency revenue, enrich invoices with converted totals, or generate analytics using consistent FX sources.

What you can automate
• Convert amounts from a base currency to multiple targets (mid-market)
• Convert multiple source currencies into a single base currency
• Pull daily historical rates back to 1998 for reporting
• Fetch historic rates over a specific date period for reconciliations
• Calculate monthly average exchange rates for finance summaries
• Retrieve stats (high/low/average/volatility) and reference rates from central banks/alternative sources

API & Authentication

Authentication method: API credentials

This connector uses Account ID + API Key (credentials-based authentication). Konnectify stores these values securely for the connection and uses them to authenticate each request to the Xe API.

Capabilities used by this integration
  • Mid-market currency conversion (from base → many targets; many sources → base)
  • Historical daily rates (full history or within a period)
  • Monthly average rates
  • Statistics (high, low, average, volatility)
  • Reference rates from central banks and alternative sources
Developer resources

Refer to Xe’s official documentation for endpoints, supported currencies, and quota limits.

Note: Xe plans may enforce rate limits, historical range access, or source availability. If you see errors like quota exceeded or forbidden, verify your Xe subscription level and API permissions.

How to connect Xe Currency Data to Konnectify

Prerequisites
  • An active Xe Currency Data account with API access
  • Your Account ID and API Key
  • A Konnectify workspace and permission to create connections/workflows
1

Add Xe Currency Data to a Workflow

  1. Open your workflow in Konnectify.
  2. Click Add step and search for Xe Currency Data.
  3. Select the action you want to run (for example, Convert Currency From).
2

Authorize via Account ID + API Key

  1. When prompted, click Add new connection.
  2. Enter your Account ID and API Key.
  3. Save the connection.
3

Configure the Action

  1. Select base/source and target/counter currencies (e.g., USD → EUR).
  2. Provide the amount and (for historic actions) the date or date range.
  3. Map dynamic fields from earlier steps (order total, invoice date, etc.).
Important: Ensure your currency codes match the expected ISO format (e.g., USD, EUR, GBP). For historic queries, double-check timezone/date formatting so you don’t pull the wrong day’s rate.
4

Test the Workflow

  1. Run a test with sample amounts and currencies.
  2. Confirm the response contains expected rates and converted totals.
  3. If you hit quota/rate errors, retry later or reduce test frequency.
5

Activate the Workflow

  1. Enable the workflow.
  2. Monitor first runs for any authentication or quota errors.
  3. Iterate on mappings as business requirements change (new currencies, sources, or reporting periods).

Triggers 0

This integration currently has no triggers. Use Xe Currency Data actions in the middle or end of workflows that start from other apps (e.g., an order created, invoice approved, or scheduled job).

Tip: To run conversions on a schedule, start the workflow with a scheduler/time trigger in Konnectify (if available in your plan) or from another system that emits events.

FAQ

How does authentication work for Xe Currency Data in Konnectify?
Xe Currency Data uses credentials-based authentication with an Account ID and API Key. Add them once when creating the connection, and Konnectify will use them for subsequent requests.
 Which Xe plans are supported?
Any Xe Currency Data plan that provides API access and supports the endpoints you use will work. Availability of historical ranges (e.g., back to 1998), central bank rates, and alternative sources may depend on your Xe subscription.
How do triggers work for this integration—webhook or polling?
This connector currently has no triggers. Start workflows from another app’s trigger (webhook or polling) and then use Xe Currency Data actions to fetch the required FX rates.
How do I prevent duplicates when converting currencies?
Xe Currency Data actions are read-only (they fetch rates). To prevent duplicate downstream records, implement idempotency in your workflow—for example: store a processed invoice/order ID, add a “find-or-create” step in the destination app, or add a conditional check before writing results.
What happens if I hit Xe API rate limits?
If Xe enforces a quota, requests may fail with rate/limit errors. To reduce issues, avoid unnecessary test runs, cache rates where appropriate (e.g., reuse the same day’s rate for multiple items), and add retry/backoff logic using Konnectify workflow controls (if available).
Can I connect multiple Xe accounts to Konnectify?
Yes. Create multiple connections—each with its own Account ID and API Key—then choose the appropriate connection per workflow or per step (depending on how your workspace is configured).
Which action should I use: Convert Currency From vs Convert Currency To?
Use Convert Currency From when you have one base currency and want results in one or more target currencies. Use Convert Currency To when you have one or more source currencies that you want to convert into a single base currency (useful for consolidating multi-currency transactions into a reporting currency).
