API & Authentication

Authentication type: API Key

This connector uses API Key authentication. In Konnectify, you’ll paste your Rocketlane API key once when creating the connection. Konnectify stores it securely and uses it to authenticate API calls.

Required connection field
  • API Key (api_key)
API capabilities covered
  • Projects, phases, and spaces management
  • Tasks (create/update/move, dependencies, assignees, followers)
  • Users lookup
  • Time off and time entries
  • Space documents
  • Invoices lookup
Important notes
  • API access and available endpoints may vary by Rocketlane plan and your workspace permissions.
  • All APIs can be subject to rate limits. If you see throttling, reduce polling frequency, batch downstream steps, or add retries/backoff in your workflow design.

FAQ

How does authentication work for Rocketlane in Konnectify?
The connector uses API Key authentication. You provide a Rocketlane API key in the connection setup, and Konnectify uses it to authorize requests. Make sure the key belongs to a user with the required permissions for the objects you want to automate.
Which Rocketlane plans are supported?
Any Rocketlane plan that provides API access and the required permissions should work. If an action fails with authorization errors, confirm that your plan includes the endpoint and that the API key’s user role can access the relevant modules (projects, tasks, time tracking, invoices, etc.).
Are Rocketlane triggers instant (webhooks) or polling?
Triggers for this integration are polling-based. Konnectify periodically checks Rocketlane for changes and uses cursor tracking (where available) to reduce duplicates and missed events.
How do I prevent duplicates when creating tasks or projects?
This connector doesn’t include a dedicated “upsert” action. To prevent duplicates, use a lookup step first (for example, Search Project By Name or Search Task By Name) and then branch: create only when no match is found; otherwise update the existing record.
What happens if Rocketlane rate limits my workflow?
If Rocketlane responds with throttling/rate limit errors, reduce trigger polling frequency, avoid unnecessary “Get by ID” calls, and add retry/backoff in Konnectify where available. For bulk changes, consider spreading operations over time rather than running large bursts.
Can I connect multiple Rocketlane accounts/workspaces?
Yes. Create multiple Rocketlane connections in Konnectify—each with a different API key. Then select the appropriate connection per workflow (or per step) depending on which Rocketlane workspace you want to automate.
How do I move a task to a different phase safely?
Use Move Task to Phase with the correct Task ID and target Phase ID. If you only have names, resolve IDs first using Search Task By Name and Search Phase By Name (scoped to the project), then perform the move and optionally run Get Task By ID to confirm the final state.
