What is Linear?

Linear is a modern product development platform for tracking bugs, managing projects, planning cycles, and building product roadmaps. Engineering, product, and support teams use Linear to keep work organized from customer feedback through delivery.

With Konnectify, you can connect Linear to your support desk, CRM, communication tools, databases, spreadsheets, and internal apps so updates move automatically between systems without manual copy-paste.

API & Authentication

OAuth 2.0 authorization

The Linear connector uses OAuth 2.0. When you connect Linear, Konnectify redirects you to Linear to approve access, then securely completes the authorization flow using Linear’s OAuth token endpoint. Your Linear username and password are not stored in Konnectify.

The integration can work with Linear resources represented by the available triggers and actions, including issues, comments, projects, cycles, documents, attachments, users, teams, releases, initiatives, labels, customers, SLAs, reactions, and issue relations.

Note: Linear plan permissions, workspace settings, OAuth app configuration, and Linear API rate limits may affect which records and operations are available to a connected account.

For endpoint behavior and platform-specific limits, refer to the official Linear API documentation.

How to Connect Linear to Konnectify

Prerequisites

  • An active Linear workspace and user account with permission to access the required resources.
  • A Konnectify account with access to create or edit workflows.
  • OAuth authorization access for the Linear workspace you want to automate.
1

Add Linear to a Workflow

  1. Open Konnectify and create a new workflow or edit an existing one.
  2. Select Linear as the trigger app or action app.
2

Authorize via OAuth 2.0

  1. Click Connect when prompted.
  2. Sign in to Linear and approve the requested workspace access.
3

Configure the Trigger or Action

  1. Choose the Linear event or operation, such as Issue Created or Create Issue.
  2. Map required fields from previous workflow steps.
Some webhook triggers include configuration fields such as team, project, or resource filters. Select the correct workspace context before testing.
4

Test the Workflow

  1. Run a test to confirm Konnectify can read or write the selected Linear record.
  2. Review sample output and field mappings.
5

Activate the Workflow

  1. Turn on the workflow once the test succeeds.
  2. Monitor workflow runs from your Konnectify dashboard.

Triggers 45

Linear includes 45 webhook triggers. Webhook triggers run per event, so Konnectify can start workflows when supported Linear records are created, updated, removed, or otherwise changed.

FAQ

How does Konnectify authenticate with Linear?
Linear uses OAuth 2.0 authorization in Konnectify. You approve access in Linear, and Konnectify connects securely without storing your Linear username or password.
Which Linear plans are supported?
Konnectify can connect to Linear workspaces that allow OAuth and API access. Some resources, beta features, customer-related objects, or advanced workspace capabilities may depend on your Linear plan and permissions.
How do Linear triggers work?
The Linear connector uses webhook triggers. When a supported Linear event happens, such as an issue being created or a project being updated, Linear sends the event to Konnectify and the workflow starts.
Does this integration prevent duplicate Linear records?
This connector does not include explicit upsert actions. To avoid duplicates, search for an existing issue, project, document, user, or attachment first, then use conditional workflow logic to create or update the record.
How are Linear rate limits handled?
If Linear rate limits an API request, the workflow run may pause, retry, or return an error depending on the workflow configuration. Design high-volume workflows with filters and batching strategy in mind.
Can I connect multiple Linear accounts or workspaces?
Yes. You can create multiple Linear connections in Konnectify, such as separate connections for different workspaces, teams, or admin users, and choose the right connection in each workflow step.
Can I automate Linear issue relationships and release notes?
Yes. The connector includes actions for issue relations, allowing you to create and manage relationships between issues. It also supports beta release and release note actions, subject to Linear’s beta API behavior and workspace permissions.
