API & Authentication
How Konnectify Connects to Paddle
Konnectify connects securely to your Paddle account using API Key credentials. This integration supports both the Sandbox environment (for safe testing) and the Live Account environment (for active business workflows). Because Paddle uses API keys to verify requests, Konnectify never sees or stores your master account password.
To authenticate, you will select your environment in Konnectify and provide your Paddle API Key, which typically begins with the prefix pdl_.

Important Sandbox vs. Live Note
Paddle API keys are environment-specific. A Sandbox key starting with pdl_sandbox_ cannot connect to your Live environment, and a Live key will not work in Sandbox. Be sure to select the correct environment matching your API key during the connection setup.
How to Connect
Prerequisites:
- An active Paddle account (Sandbox or Live).
- A Paddle API Key generated from your Paddle dashboard under Developer Settings > API Keys.
- A Konnectify account.
Add Paddle to a Workflow
- Log in to your Konnectify dashboard and create a new workflow.
- Click to add a step, search for "Paddle" in the application library, and select it.
Authorize via API Key
- In the authorization window, select your Environment (either "Sandbox" or "Live Account").
- Paste your Paddle API Key into the API Key field.
- Click Connect to authorize and link your account.
Configure the Trigger or Action
- Choose your desired trigger or action from the drop-down menu.
- Map dynamic variables (such as customer email, subscription ID, or currency) from Paddle to other apps in your workflow.
Check your fields: Ensure that any required fields, like email address formats, are mapped correctly to avoid API payload rejection.
Test the Workflow
- Click the Test Step button in Konnectify.
- Verify that sample data from Paddle successfully transfers to your connected application.
Activate the Workflow
- Once the test passes, toggle your workflow to Active.
- Konnectify will now run this integration continuously in the background.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I securely authenticate my Paddle account?
▾
Konnectify connects using an API Key generated inside your Paddle dashboard under Developer Settings > API Keys. This key is used strictly to authorize communication between Konnectify and Paddle's API. Your master account password is never exposed or stored.
Which Paddle environments are supported?
▾
Both Sandbox and Live environments are fully supported. When setting up your connection in Konnectify, select "Sandbox" to test workflows without processing real financial transactions, or "Live Account" to connect your active production store.
Are Paddle triggers real-time or polled?
▾
Paddle triggers are webhook-based, which means they are real-time. The moment a subscription is created, updated, or canceled in your Paddle store, the event payload is pushed directly to Konnectify to run your active workflows instantly.
Can I update active subscription prices and items mid-cycle?
▾
Yes. The Update Subscription action allows you to modify items, apply discounts, or alter collection modes on active Paddle subscriptions. This enables you to automate mid-cycle upgrades or custom contract changes directly from your CRM or database.
How does Konnectify handle Paddle's API rate limits?
▾
Konnectify manages rate limits gracefully by complying with Paddle's standard API thresholds. If an API call is rate-limited, Konnectify automatically schedules a retry using an exponential backoff strategy to ensure your billing data is processed without failure.
Can I connect multiple Paddle accounts to Konnectify?
▾
Yes. You can authenticate multiple separate Paddle accounts or keys (such as distinct keys for different regional entities or separate Sandbox and Live connections) and select the specific connection you want to use for each step of your workflow.
What is the difference between Subscription Updated and Subscription Canceled triggers?
▾
The Subscription Updated trigger fires for non-terminal changes (such as tier upgrades, credit card updates, or scheduling a cancellation for the end of the billing cycle). The Subscription Canceled trigger fires specifically when a subscription's status officially transitions to "canceled" and access should be revoked.
