What is Ecwid?

Ecwid by Lightspeed is an e-commerce platform that allows you to easily set up an online storefront and sell your products globally. Connecting your Ecwid store to Konnectify bridges the gap between your online retail sales operations and back-office systems like CRMs, marketing tools, and accounting software, keeping your inventory levels and customer records synchronized automatically.

API & Authentication

Secure Token Authentication

Ecwid connects securely to Konnectify using your unique Store ID and Secret API Token. This ensures that Konnectify can safely perform store updates and retrieve order data on your behalf without requiring your primary account password.

To find your Secret Token, log into your Ecwid Control Panel, navigate to Apps → My Apps (or your Developer settings), and locate your Custom API credentials.

Plan Requirements Note

Ecwid restricts custom API access and token generation to paid plans (such as Venture, Business, or Unlimited). Please ensure your store plan supports API access before connecting.

For comprehensive details on API scopes and credentials, refer to the official Ecwid API Documentation.

How to Connect

Prerequisites:
  • An active Ecwid store with an eligible paid plan (Venture or higher).
  • Your numeric Ecwid Store ID (displayed at the bottom-left of your Ecwid Control Panel).
  • A valid Secret API Token generated from your store's developer panel.
1

Add Ecwid to your Workflow

Log into your Konnectify dashboard, initiate a new workflow, and select Ecwid from the app catalog to set up your action step.

2

Authorize Connection

When prompted, input your Store ID and your Secret Token. Click "Connect" to authorize Konnectify to communicate with your store securely.

3

Configure Action Settings

Select the desired action (e.g., Create Product) and map the input fields from your trigger application to the corresponding store fields.

Caution: Ensure unique identifiers like customer emails, product IDs, or order numbers are mapped correctly to prevent updates from failing or creating duplicate entries.

4

Run a Connection Test

Click "Test Workflow" to send a sample data payload. Verify that the sample product, customer, or order is processed successfully inside your Ecwid Control Panel.

5

Activate and Go Live

Once the test passes, switch your workflow to "Active." Konnectify will now process your automated store actions continuously in the background.

FAQ

What authentication details do I need to link Ecwid?
You will need your numeric Ecwid Store ID and a Secret API Token. Both of these credentials can be retrieved directly from your Ecwid Control Panel under your developer settings or custom app configurations.
Which Ecwid plans support custom API integrations?
Ecwid limits custom API token generation to their premium tiers. You must be subscribed to an Ecwid Venture, Business, or Unlimited plan to establish a connection with Konnectify.
How do I run workflows if Ecwid has no triggers?
While this integration operates on actions, you can use triggers from other connected tools (like Google Sheets or CRMs) to run workflows. For example, a "New Contact" trigger in your CRM can automatically fire the "Create Customer" action in your Ecwid store.
How can I prevent duplicate customers from being created?
To avoid duplicates, structure your workflow to use the Search Customers action first. This action checks if the customer's email already exists in Ecwid. If a profile is found, apply the Update Customer action; if not, proceed to Create Customer.
Does the integration respect Ecwid API rate limits?
Yes. Ecwid imposes rate limits on its API endpoints to maintain performance. Konnectify automatically handles rate limit responses by queuing and retrying requests, ensuring your store updates complete successfully without data loss.
Can I connect multiple Ecwid stores to Konnectify?
Yes. You can connect and manage multiple Ecwid storefronts by authorizing each one with its unique Store ID and Secret API Token. You can select which store to target during the configuration phase of each workflow step.
Can I automate digital product files and downloads?
Yes. Using the Upload Product File and Download Product File actions, you can programmatically manage digital assets. This allows you to attach digital download files to products or retrieve file contents encoded as Base64 strings for external archiving.
