OAuth 2.0 Secure Authorization
Instagram Business uses secure OAuth 2.0 authorization. When connecting your account, you will authorize Konnectify with your Facebook/Instagram credentials. This grants secure delegated access to manage direct messages and retrieve basic profile info without Konnectify ever seeing or storing your password.
Required Scopes: instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_manage_messages
API Limitations & Requirements
Meta enforces a strict 24-hour messaging window. Your automated workflows can only send direct messages to users who have messaged your Instagram Business account within the last 24 hours. Outside this window, automated messages cannot be delivered.

How to Connect
Prerequisites for connection:
- An Instagram Professional (Business or Creator) account.
- A Facebook Page linked directly to your Instagram Business account.
- Administrator permissions on the linked Facebook Page to authorize the OAuth 2.0 connection.
Add Instagram Business to a Workflow
- Log into your Konnectify dashboard and create a new workflow or open an existing draft.
- Search for Instagram Business in the application library.
- Drag and drop the Instagram Business step into your active workflow editor.
Authorize via OAuth 2.0
- Click the Connect Account button inside the step configuration panel.
- A secure window will open redirecting you to Facebook/Instagram. Log in with your Facebook credentials.
- Select the specific Facebook Page and linked Instagram Business account you want to connect, and grant all requested permissions.
Configure the Action
- Select the desired action from the dropdown menu (e.g., Send a text message).
- Map dynamic variables from previous steps in your workflow to fill out required fields like Conversation ID or Message Text.
Recipient ID Warning
Always ensure you are passing a valid Instagram Scoped ID (IGSID) or Conversation ID. Passing a standard Instagram username directly into message fields will cause delivery errors.
Test the Workflow
- Click the Test Step button to execute a live test using sample data.
- Verify that the message is sent to your test account or that the requested profile details are correctly retrieved.
Activate the Workflow
- Once the test succeeds, click Publish Workflow in the top right corner.
- Toggle the workflow status to active. Konnectify will now run this automation continuously in the background.

What plans are required to use this integration?

You must have an Instagram Professional account (either Business or Creator). Personal Instagram accounts do not support direct messaging APIs and cannot be connected to Konnectify.
How fast do actions execute in my Instagram workflow?

Why is my Facebook page not showing up during authorization?

Ensure that your Instagram Business account is properly linked to your Facebook Page, and that you have Admin access on that Facebook Page. Only Page Admins can authorize API access.
What is an IGSID and how do I find it?

An IGSID (Instagram Scoped ID) is a unique identifier assigned to a user interacting with your specific business page. It is automatically captured by triggers or can be resolved using our Find Conversation action.
