API & Authentication

Secure Client Credentials Authentication

Salesforce Commerce Beta uses secure Client Credentials authentication. This allows Konnectify to communicate directly with the Salesforce Commerce API (SCAPI) using your Account Manager Client ID, Client Secret, Short Code, and Organization ID. This server-to-server connection keeps your credentials secure while enabling high-performance data synchronization.

To establish a connection, you will need to retrieve the following details from your Salesforce environments:

  • Account Manager Client ID: The unique identifier generated when creating an API Client in Salesforce Account Manager.
  • Account Manager Client Secret: The password/secret associated with your Salesforce API Client.
  • SCAPI Short Code: Found in Business Manager under Administration > Site Development > Salesforce Commerce API Settings.
  • Organization ID: Found in Business Manager under Administration > Site Development > Salesforce Commerce API Settings (e.g., f_ecom_zzte_053).
 Required API Client Scopes

Ensure your API Client in Salesforce Account Manager is configured with the correct SCAPI scopes and roles (e.g., sfcc.catalogs.rw, sfcc.orders.rw, sfcc.customers.rw) to allow read and write access for the modules you plan to automate.

For comprehensive instructions on setting up API Clients, refer to the official Salesforce Commerce API Documentation.

How to Connect

Prerequisites:
  • A Salesforce B2C Commerce sandbox or production instance.
  • Administrator access to Salesforce Account Manager to create or view API Clients.
  • Salesforce Business Manager access to retrieve your Organization ID and SCAPI Short Code.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Salesforce Commerce Beta authenticate with Konnectify?
Salesforce Commerce Beta uses the secure OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials flow via your Salesforce Account Manager. You will need to input your Client ID, Client Secret, SCAPI Short Code, and Organization ID. This allows Konnectify to safely communicate with your Salesforce Commerce API (SCAPI) without ever requiring or storing your primary user password.
Which Salesforce Commerce plans are supported?
This integration supports Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud instances that have access to the Salesforce Commerce API (SCAPI) and Account Manager. Availability of specific endpoints may vary based on your organization's Salesforce license and API access permissions.
How fast do triggers detect updates?
Triggers operate on a scheduled polling basis. Konnectify checks your Salesforce B2C Commerce instance periodically for new or updated records (such as orders, products, or customers) based on their creation or modification timestamps, ensuring your workflows remain up to date.
Does this integration prevent duplicate product records?
Yes. When using the "Create Or Update Product" action, Salesforce Commerce Beta automatically checks if the Product ID already exists in your catalog. If it exists, the action overwrites and updates the product details; if not, it creates a new product record.
 How are rate limits managed?
Salesforce Commerce API (SCAPI) enforces rate limits to ensure storefront stability. If your workflows trigger a high volume of actions simultaneously and hit these limits, Konnectify automatically queues and retries requests dynamically. You can also view rate limit alerts in your Salesforce Business Manager.
Can I connect multiple Salesforce Commerce environments?
Absolutely. You can authorize multiple connections in Konnectify by naming each connection uniquely (e.g., "Salesforce Commerce - Sandbox" and "Salesforce Commerce - Production") using their respective Account Manager credentials and Organization IDs.
How do I manage customer lists in Salesforce Commerce Beta?
When setting up customer-related triggers or actions, you must specify the "Customer List ID" in your configuration. This ensures that new customers are polled or created within the correct storefront boundary, as Salesforce B2C Commerce isolates customers by customer lists.
