API & Authentication

Authentication Method: API Token

Shippo secures access to your shipping data using an API Token. By generating a secure API token inside your Shippo dashboard, you allow Konnectify to safely manage your shipping operations, fetch carrier rates, and generate shipping labels without exposing your password.

Your API token must be provided exactly as generated in your Shippo account. Shippo offers both Test and Live tokens. We recommend starting with a Test token to safely build and verify your workflows before switching to a Live token for actual shipping operations.

Plan & Rate Limit Note

Shippo enforces standard API rate limits based on system load. If your automated workflows process a very high volume of labels simultaneously, Konnectify automatically handles rate limit responses and retries the actions gracefully.

How to Connect

Prerequisites:

An active Shippo account and an API Token (Live or Test) generated from your Shippo dashboard settings.

Add Shippo to a Workflow

Log in to your Konnectify dashboard and open or create a workflow.
Click "Add App" and select Shippo from the app directory.

Authorize via API Token

In the connection pop-up, enter a friendly name for your Shippo account connection.
Paste your Shippo API Token into the credential field.
Click Connect to establish the link.

Configure the Trigger or Action

Select the Shippo trigger or action you wish to configure.
Map relevant dynamic data fields (such as Customer Address, Weight, or Carrier Service) from preceding steps.

Important Connection Note:

Ensure you use your Shippo Live Token for production workflows, as Test Tokens will not generate real shipping charges or live carrier labels.

Test the Workflow

Click "Test Step" to send sample data through your Shippo connection.
Verify that the transaction, order, or address appears correctly in your Shippo dashboard.

Konnectify connects to Shippo using your Shippo API Token. This secure token acts as a digital key, allowing Konnectify to request rates, create shipments, and purchase labels on your behalf without ever seeing or storing your Shippo login password.

Which Shippo plans are supported by this integration? ▾

The integration supports all Shippo plans, including Free, Professional, and Premier accounts. Please note that certain advanced features, like custom carrier accounts or specific service groups, may depend on your active Shippo subscription.

How quickly do Shippo triggers run? ▾

Shippo triggers like Transaction Created and Tracking Updated use instant webhooks, meaning Shippo sends the data to your Konnectify workflow the exact moment the event occurs. The New Shipment trigger uses polling, which periodically checks your Shippo account for new shipments.

How can I prevent duplicate shipments or orders in Shippo? ▾

When creating orders or shipments, you can map unique identifiers (like your e-commerce store's Order ID) to Shippo's external identifier fields. This ensures that Shippo can recognize and prevent duplicate fulfillment requests for the same order.

Does Shippo have API rate limits that affect my workflows? ▾

Yes, Shippo enforces standard API rate limits to ensure system stability. If your automated workflows process a very high volume of labels simultaneously, Konnectify automatically handles rate limit responses and retries the actions gracefully.

Shippo provides both Test and Live API tokens. Test tokens allow you to build and test your Konnectify workflows without generating real shipping labels or incurring carrier charges. Live tokens must be used when you are ready to purchase actual shipping labels and schedule real carrier pickups.
