What is N-able N-central?

N-able N-central is an enterprise-class remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform designed for MSPs and IT departments to secure, manage, and monitor complex networks. By integrating N-central with Konnectify, IT operations teams can automate ticket creation, sync asset lifecycle data with external asset managers, and streamline customer onboarding without manual data entry.

  • Fetch hardware, software, and network asset details to keep your asset management systems perfectly updated.
  • Execute direct support tasks on remote devices automatically in response to external alerts.
  • Track scheduled task executions and update external project management boards with real-time status.
  • Retrieve customer registration tokens automatically to streamline agent deployment workflows.
  • Trigger automated alerts in your service desk when active issues or critical device monitoring states change.

API & Authentication

Authentication Classification: API Token (JWT)

N-able N-central uses a secure JSON Web Token (JWT) combined with your self-hosted or cloud-hosted Server URL. This token authorizes Konnectify to securely interact with your N-central server, accessing monitoring data and executing tasks without requiring your master login credentials.

To authenticate, you must generate a User-API Token inside the N-central dashboard. The API actions you can perform are governed by the permissions of the N-central user profile associated with that token.

Permission Warning  Make sure your N-central user account has the appropriate API Access permissions enabled in N-central User Management. If permissions are restricted, certain actions like creating sites or running tasks may return authorization errors.

For more details, refer to the official N-able N-central API Documentation.

How to Connect

Prerequisites: Administrative access to your N-able N-central instance to generate a User-API Token, and the base URL of your N-central server.
1

Add N-able N-central to a Workflow

In Konnectify, drag the N-able N-central application into your active workflow canvas to begin setting up your automation step.

2

Authorize via User-API Token

Enter your N-central Server URL (e.g., https://your-ncentral-server.example.com) and paste the User-API Token (JWT) generated from your N-central user profile.

3

Configure the Action

Map your workflow fields to N-central's parameters, such as specifying Device IDs, Customer names, or Site configurations.

Configuration Tip: Double-check that your Server URL is the full base URL without /api or trailing slashes to prevent connection errors.
4

Test the Workflow

Run a test action in Konnectify to verify N-central successfully processes the request and maps data correctly.

5

Activate the Workflow

Turn on the integration to begin hands-free automation between N-able N-central and your other business tools.

Triggers 0 Triggers

N-able N-central currently does not expose direct triggers through this integration. However, you can power your workflows using Konnectify's wide range of triggers from other apps—such as service desks, CRMs, or form builders—to drive automated actions directly inside N-central.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I generate the User-API Token (JWT) in N-central? ▾
Log into your N-central dashboard as an administrator. Navigate to Administration > User Management > Users. Select the specific user account you wish to integrate, click on the API Access tab, and click GENERATE JSON WEB TOKEN. Copy the resulting token and paste it directly into Konnectify.
 Are both cloud-hosted and on-premise N-central servers supported? ▾
Yes. As long as your self-hosted or cloud-hosted N-central server is publicly reachable over HTTPS, Konnectify can establish a secure API connection using your server URL.
Why are there no triggers available for N-central? ▾
N-central's current API architecture is primarily pull-based. You can easily initiate workflows using other triggers (such as schedule-based timers, CRM updates, or incoming alert emails) and then use N-central actions to pull device logs, check task statuses, or list active issues.
Does this integration support custom device properties? ▾
Yes. You can use actions such as List Device Custom Properties, Get Device Custom Property, and Update Device Custom Property to read and write custom field data assigned to specific remote assets.
What permissions does the N-central API token require? ▾
The User-API Token inherits the exact permissions assigned to the N-central user profile that generated it. If you plan to execute direct support tasks or create customers/sites, ensure the generating user has write privileges for those specific modules inside N-central.
How are rate limits handled on self-hosted N-central servers? ▾
N-central instances may enforce rate limits on API endpoints depending on server configuration. Konnectify processes actions sequentially to avoid overloading your server and triggering rate limit blocks. Check your N-central system console for your server's current limits.
Can I connect multiple N-central servers to Konnectify? ▾
Yes. You can establish multiple independent connections to different N-central servers in Konnectify by configuring separate credentials with unique Server URLs and User-API Tokens.
