API & Authentication
Secure OAuth 2.0 Authorization
Workday uses secure OAuth 2.0 credentials to establish a safe connection with Konnectify. To connect, you will need your Workday API Base URL, Client ID, and Client Secret. This ensures Konnectify can securely read and write data—such as worker profiles, payroll inputs, or purchase orders—on behalf of your organization, while keeping your primary administrative credentials completely hidden and secure.
View Workday Developer Docs → Security Group & Integration PermissionsEnsure that your Workday Integration System User (ISU) has the appropriate security group permissions for the Web Services and REST APIs you plan to use. If your ISU lacks permissions to view workers or create payroll inputs, those specific steps in your Konnectify workflows will fail with access-denied errors.
How to Connect Workday to Konnectify
PrerequisitesBefore starting, ensure you have an active Workday tenant, an Integration System User (ISU) with API access enabled, and API client credentials (Client ID and Client Secret) generated in your Workday tenant.
Add Workday to a Workflow
Log into your Konnectify dashboard, create a new workflow, and select Workday from your integration catalog to add it as an action step in your workflow canvas.
Authorize via OAuth 2.0
When prompted, enter your Workday API Base URL (e.g., https://api.us.wcp.workday.com), Client ID, and Client Secret. Click the authorize button to securely connect your Workday tenant.
Configure the Action Details
Choose the action you want to perform (e.g., Create Prospect or Change Job) and map the appropriate data fields from your trigger application.
Field Mapping TipEnsure that unique identifiers like Worker ID or Requisition ID are mapped correctly to avoid processing failures during validation.
Test the Workflow
Execute a test run inside Konnectify to verify that the mapped data is received correctly by your Workday tenant and doesn't trigger API validation errors.
Activate the Workflow
Once the test passes, toggle your workflow to active. Konnectify will now automatically process and update your Workday data in real time.
Triggers 0
Workday is currently an action-driven integration in Konnectify. This means you can use Workday actions to look up, create, and modify records in response to events occurring in your other connected business applications (such as a recruiting platform, CRM, or IT helpdesk).
Action-Driven WorkflowsTo automate Workday processes, configure a trigger in another business app (for example, "Candidate Status Updated" in your ATS) and pair it with a Workday action (such as "Create Prospect" or "Change Job") to sync employee lifecycles automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I authenticate my Workday connection in Konnectify? ▾
You connect by entering your Workday API Base URL, Client ID, and Client Secret. Konnectify uses these credentials to initiate a secure OAuth 2.0 authorization flow with your Workday tenant, ensuring your administrative passwords are never exposed or stored.
Which Workday plans are compatible with this integration? ▾
This integration is compatible with Workday enterprise environments that have API services and REST capabilities enabled. Access permissions depend on your organization's specific Workday tenant settings and security configuration.
Why are there no direct Workday triggers available? ▾
Workday is currently an action-driven integration in Konnectify. This means it is optimized to perform actions (like updating a worker's job profile or submitting feedback) when triggered by events occurring in other applications linked to your workflows.
How can I prevent duplicate prospects or workers in Workday? ▾
You can use lookup actions like Get Prospect By ID or Get Worker By ID earlier in your workflow to check if a matching record already exists. Use conditional logic in Konnectify to skip creation if a record is found.
Does Workday limit the number of API requests? ▾
Yes, Workday enforces tenant-specific API rate limits to maintain optimal performance. Konnectify manages requests efficiently, but you should review your Workday API usage guidelines to ensure your integration workflows stay within your tenant's limits.
Can I connect multiple Workday tenants to Konnectify? ▾
Yes. You can link multiple Workday instances (such as Sandbox and Production environments) by creating separate Workday connections in Konnectify, using the unique Base URL and client credentials for each environment.
How do Workday Business Process approvals work with this integration? ▾
The Approve Event action allows you to programmatically approve steps in an active Workday business process (such as a job change or requisition approval) using an external trigger from your team's communication tools or operational systems.
